Lower Elementary students have been busy in the first eight days of school. Each year, classrooms participate in the Monarch Watch program by building a monarch garden, raising caterpillars, and tagging our butterflies before they are released. Our hope is to encourage the repopulation of the monarch as well as provide data for scientists.
First and second grade Biomes always begin by learning how the universe came to be. Third grade Biomes will be studying all the Biomes in North America. They kicked off the first biome, the temperate forest and will be investigating the the culture of the Amish within that biome. Based on the available resources, the Amish have become accomplished carpenters and farmers. They are learning about the daily life of the Amish, including clothing, food, and traditions.
