Despite recent snow days and school-wide work on the upcoming musical, we have been busy down in the art room. All classes have been learning various drawing techniques, and will soon be constructing their own sketchbook to use for the remainder of the year. Lower and Upper Elementary studied contrasting colors using Wassily Kandinsky’s Squares With Concentric Circles as inspiration. Grades 6/7/8 did a bit of “IKEA Hacking” on the discarded chairs from the Primary room. And last but certainly not least, Lower Elementary used hand tools and various objects to create 3-D robots.
