We’re going outside!

Children go outdoors for recess in most weather, so clothing for cold days is important. A heavy winter jacket may not be the most effective cold weather gear by itself. Many children wear a long‐sleeved buttoned, polo or thermal underwear shirt and a sweater or sweatshirt in the building, and add a jacket, sleeveless vest (or both) to go outside.

Mittens and gloves and a hat are essential. Students who wear boots or fashionable but unsubstantial shoes should keep or remember to bring appropriate shoes to school for physical education periods. Flip‐flops and clogs are strongly discouraged because they are a common cause of injury.

LABEL EVERY ITEM OF CLOTHING YOUR CHILD COULD POSSIBLY TAKE OFF AT SCHOOL, OR YOU MAY NEVER SEE IT AGAIN!
