Last week the preschool was fortunate enough to have a visit from a real beekeeper!
The father of one of our students keeps bees, and today he visited our classroom. He dressed in his beekeeping clothes, brought with him an empty hive, and showed us the screens where the bees build their comb. He demonstrated the smoker, which helps him calm the bees, and passed around sample of the waxy honeycomb.
We feel so lucky to have had this peek into the world of beekeeping. Special thanks to Sean for taking time out of his day to visit our classroom!
