The Spring Musical takes a village – and then some. This year we are employing a lot of different types of help into supporting our Spring Musical. We have a steering committee and people leading up the different areas of hospitality, sets, props, fundraising and marketing.
This year we wanted to add in students to roster of people helping. Students are serving as assistant directors for different areas and now we have added students to a marketing committee.
Jack Grubb, a parent spearheading marketing for the musical, met with a group of six Upper Elementary and Middle School students who have agreed to serve on this committee. After a brief overview of the principles of marketing, we did some brainstorming about our target audience, demographics, budget, timeframe, and types of marketing contacts. The students divided tasks among themselves and set some realistic goals for next week’s meeting.
