Sort-of-Baseball

052114_01 052114_02 052114_03Today, after their work was done for the day, the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders played a game of sort-of-baseball. There were bats and a hockey stick but no real baseball, so a beach ball was good enough and possibly more fun. First base was a jump rope, second base a yellow leaf which kept moving mysteriously, and third was a magical clump of grass. These students know each other so well and 4 of them will be graduating in a week’s time. This sort-of-baseball game, played by true athletes and untrue athletes alike, was a testament to friendship, ingenuity, good humor, modesty and joy.
