The Primary Classroom, which ranges from preschool through Kindergarten, begins each year with a slow start. Slow Start allows new students to come the first day of the year, without returning students, to learn where everything is and how to do things, like help themselves to snack. On the second day of school, returning students spend the day without new students to see friends and talk about how to lead and “reach down” by showing new students where works can be found and teach them classroom songs. On Friday, all students arrive together, ready to grow as a classroom to kick of a fantastic year at McGuffey.
