Pre-Primary: Informed voters

Election season is heating up in Pre-Primary!

On November 6th we will hold an election, deciding whether we will add a goldfish or a hermit crab to our classroom. We have been reading books about both candidates to give us some base knowledge.

Last week we got a visit from two upper unit students who came to lobby. One spoke about goldfish while the other spoke on behalf of hermit crabs. After their pitch, our class had a chance to ask questions of the lobbyists and take a closer look at the examples they brought along. We then had a discussion about the pros and cons of each.

The goldfish and hermit crab stayed in our classroom for the day to allow each child to get a closer look at each candidate.

Now that we’re informed voters, we can’t wait to cast our ballots on Election Day!
