Oxford Empty Bowls

(Intermediate unit meeting with Connie Malone of Oxford Empty Bowls)

Saturday, November 10, 201211:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Oxford United Methodist Church
Cost: $10 adults; children 10 & under may choose and fill a bowl for free.

Oxford Empty Bowls is a benefit soup luncheon dedicated to hungry people in our community. It is held in cooperation with Miami University’s “Make a Difference Day” and Hunger + Homelessness Awareness Week. All proceeds will be donated to the Oxford Community Choice Pantry to support its effort to provide food to local families in need.

At the luncheon, guests choose from amongst a collection of beautiful, handmade bowls created and donated by Miami University art students and Oxford area potters. Their bowls are then filled with their choice of soups made by local cooks. Luncheon guests then keep their bowl to use or display at home and to serve as a reminder that there are always empty bowls in the world. Homemade bread and desserts, and beverages donated by area businesses will also be served.

Co-sponsored by the Miami University Art Department with support from the Office of Community Engagement & Service and the Office of Residence Life.
