The Miami University Hike-A-Thon is taking place this weekend on the trails at the Miami University Natural Areas. This facility is an unbelievable asset to our community, with over 1000 acres, 15 miles of walking/hiking trails, beautiful streams, woodlands, wildlife and wildflowers, all in easy walking distance from campus.
The event is free and open to the community, including friendly dogs on leash. There will be three hikes; 1 mile, 3 mile and 5 mile. Everyone participating will receive a free “Take a Hike” tee shirt.
Other featured activities include bird walks to the new bird viewing station/birding trail all led by skilled birders. Here you will be able to see birds, up close, in their natural environment.
Hikes will start anytime between 8:00am to 2:00pm. Bird Walks begin at 8:00am and continue every hour until 11:00am.
