We are pleased to announce that two of our Stock Market Game teams did exceptionally well this spring!
On February 14, students began investing a virtual $100,000.00.
The Upper Unit team won their middle school division of 20 teams. At the end of the game, their portfolio had a net value of $127,174.05.
The Intermediate Unit team won not only their elementary school division of 28 teams, but also won at the state title, beating out 1577 other teams at all levels. At the end of the competition, their portfolio had a net value of $150,599.21.
On May 11, 2011, these two teams will travel to the University of Cincinnati to compete in the Portfolio Challenge. Each team will create a 5–6 minute Power Point presentation to present to a panel. They will compete against the 10 other first place teams in each division. The two winners of this competition will receive an all expense paid trip to New York for two days, so keep your fingers crossed for our students!
