Lower Elementary Work Plans

In a multi-age classroom, older students gain leadership skills by serving as mentors to younger students. Children feel comfortable asking fellow-students for help and are especially influenced by older peers, whom they want to emulate.

In Lower Elementary, third graders reach out to new first graders, showing their new classmates how to fill out and use their individual work plans. Montessori work plans include work that needs to be done while also allowing students to self-direct their learning, balancing responsibility with curiosity.
