Last week in the preschool we talked about the United Kingdom.
To begin the discussion, we introduced our own small-scale version of the London Underground. We talked about many of the major landmarks in London, and how you can get there via “the Tube.”
In this work, children could load and unload their passengers and consult the map to decide where their passengers are going. Will they visit Buckingham Palace or Big Ben?
This work helps familiarize the children with the major landmarks of London, and exercises their fine motor skills as they load and unload their passengers. We did tell them to remind their passengers to “mind the gap” as they board and depart the train!
