Fifth and sixth graders recently began working with Geometer’s Sketchpad. We use this software to look at geometric transformations (translations, rotations, and reflections). We will then use these transformations to create a tesselation (tiling) similar to some of M.C. Escher’s work. Students are also working on this type of activity in art and STEM.
