Our last day of art before break was an unstructured Free Art day. Play-Doh was out and unlimited use of tape and staplers was permitted for use with the scrap box (this is referred to by some students as “scrappin’ “) and other materials. One table of Play-Doh was left just in case any of the more mature Upper Elementary and Middle School kids chose to reminisce about their younger years. As shown in the pictures, we wound up expanding Play-Doh to all but one table, where three kids worked on a giant paper snowflake pattern.
Elizabeth and Ingrid worked together on this special day; we attempted to get our first listen of the songs for The Phantom Tollbooth, but our party-like attitudes made the room a tad too loud for music. Regardless, it was great fun having such a carefree day with more friends than usual packed into the art room.
