Explosive science!

In 1/2 Science, the students are studying earth processes and volcanoes. We have watched footage of the 1980 Mt. St. Helens eruption and have constructed cone volcano models of our own. Our cone volcanoes exploded with the force of expanding gas from combining vinegar and baking soda; however, we also enjoyed watching Mt. St. Diet Coke erupt by adding Mentos. Expanding gases pack a lot of force!

We have explored two wonderful websites in science to accompany our unit in Earth Science. They are:
Dynamic Earth
Lava Tubes

Please ask your student to show you how much fun these sites are!
