Last week, the students were introduced to some exciting changes in music and choir class. First of all, there is now a dedicated Music Room with percussion instruments out on shelves that they can see and choose from. As our year progresses and the they are writing music and accompanying themselves more and more, we all will appreciate that they can get out their own instruments—and put them away!
Choir classes were a hit, combining singing and movement. The Lower Elementary practiced crooked poses and movement along with the Crooked Man poem and learned a classic Montessori song, “This is My School.” Upper Elementary and Middle School worked on matching pitch and started learning a line dance outside to the toe tapping Beatle’s song, “Drive my Car.”
